Michelle (Shelley) Droe teaches grades K-6 at Lincoln Elementary in Cedar Falls. This marks her 27th year of teaching and has taught in Colorado, Florida, and Iowa. She was co-director of the Greeley Children’s Choir in Greeley, Colorado, has been a guest conductor in statewide honor festivals and will be this year’s Opus director for the 5th and 6th grade singers. Shelley graduated with a BA in Music Education from Augustana University and a masters in horn performance from the University of Northern Colorado. She completed 3 levels of Kodaly training and two levels of Orff. Shelley is a nationally certified teacher, and is currently the repertoire and standards chair for ICDA and a past president of the Kodaly Educators of Iowa. She was a finalist for the Grammy Music Educator Award in 2018.

Kevin Droe teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Music Education and is coordinator of the graduate music education program. His research focuses on special and under-served populations, technology and progressive music education. Kevin is the president of the Iowa Music Educators Association and chair of the National Association for Music Education Children with Exceptionalities Special Research Interest Group. Kevin also coordinates the UNI Spectrum Project. Kevin has a Ph.D. in Music Education from The Florida State University

Siena Fah began her studies in vocal music at UNI in the Fall of 2015. She will complete her degree in the Spring of 2019 and is currently preparing for her senior recital. Siena performed a scene as Gretel from Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel in the Opera scenes showcase of 2017 and later performed as the Mother, Gertrude, in UNI’s full production that took place the following year. She enjoys working as section leader for the Chancel Choir at First Congregational Church along with working for Western Home Communities as a receptionist. Siena is planning to begin her graduate studies in music therapy this coming Fall. She is currently a music director with the UNI Spectrum Project and feels very fortunate to grow as a musician through her experiences at UNI.
