ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT: Attend the Inclusive Arts Education Symposium, February 23, 2019

  1. Session Summaries - Attend 3 sessions and the Inclusive Arts Education Symposium and write a summary for each session. Assignment Template
    1. Session title
    2. Presenter(s) name(s)
    3. Session abstract
  2. Reflection and Future Plan - Write a 5-8 page (double-spaced) paper with the following two sections.
    1. Reflection on what you learned and experienced at the Inclusive Arts Education Symposium.
    2. Future Plans that detail ideas for how you could implement inclusive arts education practices that you learned at the conference.
  3. Lesson Plan - Create a lesson plan that reflects something you learned at the Inclusive Arts Education Symposium and exemplifies inclusive arts strategies. The lesson plan can be for a class you currently teach or for one you plan to teach in the future. Include which Iowa Fine Arts Standards are addressed in the lesson plan.
  4. Teaching Log - Keep a log of teaching for at least 6 days (approx. 30 hours of teaching). Document aspects of your teaching you consider to be inclusive and/or related to what you learned at the Inclusive Arts Education Symposium. Note: If you are not currently teaching, contact the instructor for an alternative assignment.
