Almost all students can move creatively regardless of ability. In this session, participants will get a look into an average Spectrum Project dance & movement session with considerations for effective teaching, encouraging participation, and modifications.

Hannah Gaffney is a junior studying Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Northern Iowa. She is currently a Movement Director with Spectrum, and served as an Assistant Director and buddy in previous years. Hannah is a dance instructor at Fusion Dance and Fitness in Waterloo, where she teaches 12-14 classes a week with students ranging from 4-18 years old. She is also currently working as a co-leader to create an inclusive dance class at Fusion Dance and Fitness.

Hailey Coy is a senior Health Promotion major with an emphasis in Wellness and Fitness at the University of Northern Iowa. She has been a part of the UNI cheer team all four years and also a part of the Student Life Team on campus where they work to help current students become more involved. Hailey is currently employed by the Universal Cheerleaders Association where she travels the Midwest and around the world to teach cheer camps, work competitions and events. Last Fall, Hailey interned at Western Home Communities where she taught fitness classes to residents of all ages and abilities, did personal training, and provided educational opportunities. In her free time, she loves working out and volunteering.

Bristi Gerber is originally from Vinton, IA. She's a junior Communication Sciences and Disorders major at the University of Northern Iowa. Bristi is involved in many UNI organizations including Dance Marathon, NSSHLA, Shine On and the Society of Leadership and Success. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, waitressing and traveling. Bristi believes life is all about finding your passions. She feel fortunate enough to have found a love for helping people find and embrace all the things that make them individual, because everyone has unique qualities worth celebrating! This is why Bristi is so excited to serve as an Assistant Director of Dance and Movement for the 2019 Spectrum Project.
